Role Summary: The Workshop Supervisor plays a crucial and multifaceted role in overseeing the coordination and technical operations within the warehouse. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strategic planning, and strong leadership skills to ensure the efficient maintenance of equipment, strict adherence to LGH policies and regulatory standards, and the fostering of a culture centred on safety and continuous improvement. This is a working supervisor role, and a mechanical aptitude/hands-on ability is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Technical Support: Supervise, mentor, and provide expert technical guidance to colleagues, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Equipment Availability: Develop and maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, inspections, and certifications for the hire fleet. Assist with troubleshooting machinery problems and correct operation deviations as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory standards and maintain documentation to demonstrate compliance.
- Safety Focus: Cultivate a safety-first culture within the workshop, emphasising the importance of hazard identification, risk assessment, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Effective Communication: Foster open and transparent communication within the team and across departments to facilitate seamless collaboration and information sharing.
- Representation and Reporting: Represent the Workshop team at periodic operational Company meetings, providing updates on performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Hire Centre Responsibilities: Perform opening and closing duties on a daily basis and ensure the warehouse is available for use. Organise the layout of the warehouse to maximize efficiency.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of this position, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- The successful candidate must possess a full Medium Rigid (MR) driving licence and provide (at LGH’s cost) a driving record noting no loss or suspension of drivers’ licence (for example, drink-driving bans).
- The successful candidate must provide (at LGH’s cost) a valid national police certificate showing no record convictions.
- Forklift license.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Ability to push/pull and carry/lift up to 25kg.
- Flexibility in working hours, willingness to travel occasionally, proven experience in a customer-facing role, demonstrated experience in People Management, strong IT skills including comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new and better ways of doing things, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong client management skills, self-motivated with the capability to work independently, ability to plan and prioritize effectively under pressure, willingness to collaborate with colleagues to support team objectives.
Work Authorisation:
- Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa allowing full-time employment in Australia.
Pay: $85,000 - $90,000
