THE ROLE

The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Fitzroy Hardware Store, ensuring smooth and efficient management in collaboration with the Store Manager. This includes:

• Assisting to oversee store operations, including sales, stock control, and merchandising
• Providing exceptional customer service, advice and support to the community
• Processing sales and orders efficiently to meet customer requirements
• Supporting business growth by identifying ways to improve sales and service
• Managing inventory, order stock, and minimise wastage
• Ensuring a highly organised and well-presented store front
• Maintaining compliance with workplace health & safety regulations

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a well-rounded retail professional with:

• Managerial retail experience, ideally in hardware or trade industries
• Strong customer service & sales experience
• Ability to think creatively to solve customer inquiries and ensure optimal store presentation
• Ability to lead a team and work independently when required
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a remote community, demonstrating resilience in challenging environments
• Solid understanding of stock control and inventory management
• The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and problem-solve effectively
• A commitment to working in a culturally safe and inclusive manner with Aboriginal communities
• Willingness to live and work in a remote community
• Forklift license or willingness to obtain on commencement
• WA ‘C’ Class Driver’s License (manual)
