Senior Secondary Engineer – Transmission & Distribution

Airswift is partnering with a leading energy sector client to find a passionate and skilled Senior Secondary Engineer to join their high-performing Power Transmission & Distribution team with a focus around design work. This role offers a unique chance to work on high-voltage (HV) secondary systems (66kV – 500kV), supporting major transmission infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities

Deliver detailed secondary system designs for HV transmission and substation projects.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

Utilize advanced digital tools and engineering software to optimize design accuracy and efficiency.

Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements, maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Support protection and control system integration, including schematic design and relay settings.

Qualifications and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with significant experience in HV secondary and protection system design.

Proven experience in detailed design for transmission substations (66kV – 500kV).

CPEng and/or RPEQ certification (or ability to obtain) is highly desirable.

A strong understanding of Australian grid standards, compliance requirements, and protection philosophies.
