Power Systems Officer
Joining our team means you'll be an essential part of our community. As our Power Systems Officer, you are preferred to be based in Port Hedland or Karratha and responsible for customer funded project engineering design within the Region.
This requires familiarity in typical engineering design process, standards, policies, design tools and customer service while working collaboratively with district personnel to deliver compliant cost-effective engineering design and customer service excellence.
This is a permanent full-time position.
Your role will:
- Applying international, Australian standards and Horizon Power engineering standards and policies in engineering calculations and designs
- Producing distribution network engineering design drawings for customer funded projects
- Producing bill of materials for customer funded projects
- Depending on situations, occasionally review distribution network engineering design drawings and bill of materials
- Visiting work site for engineering design works
- Frequently interacting with construction crew, logistic officers, contractor coordinators and customer service team members
- Travel if required
You will:
- Must have an electrical trade qualification and or an Advanced Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Must be eligible for Engineers Australia membership
- Must possess WA Driver's Licence Class 'C' or 'C-A'
- Must have some experience in distribution (240V to 33kV) overhead and underground network design experience in electricity utility industry
- Must be proficient with MS Office 365
- Significant technical experience in the utility networks business, including appropriate industry licenses or certificates of competency
- Preferably electricity utility design experience in Western Australia
- Preferably completed construction induction training and possess the White Card
- Preferably familiar with Safety in Design
- Preferably familiar with design related environmental issues
- Preferably with Microstation PowerDraft software experience or similar
- Preferably with Poles & Wires software experience
- Preferably with Low Voltage (LV Design) software experience
- Preferably with Ellipse software experience
- Preferably with customer service and negotiation experience
