The Role
The Senior Economic Development Officer is responsible for the execution and facilitation of City of Prospect’s Economic Development Growth Strategy focusing on the short, medium and long goals of the Action Plan.
Reporting to the Director City Growth & Development, this role is instrumental in shaping, delivering, embedding and enabling the future strategic direction of City of Prospect and delivering better outcomes for our community.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge of applying strong business acumen to develop strategies that grow commercial businesses and significant exposure to, and understanding of economic and political influences likely to affect sustainable economic development outcomes.
- Proficiency at senior level in advocacy, partnering with government, businesses and community and managing strategic projects including analysing and reporting on economic activities and development trends.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Economics, Commerce or Business Development or equivalent job related or industry experience.
- Proven experience identifying and fostering the use of new technologies and innovation to meet emerging markets including adaption, growth and diversification.
- Demonstrated experience in applying financial literacy combined with data management to grow economic outcomes including the interpretation and use of financial statements, financial management tools, economic modelling and project management.
- Demonstrated experience in economic growth, investment leveraging and business development.
