Great opportunity for a Leading Hand / Junior Foreman to join a fantastic, building contractor based in Brisbane who pride themselves in their excellent reputation of staff retention and quality of project delivery. With approximately 50 permanent members if staff in Brisbane this contractor delivers new build projects to $50M across typically within medium density residential space of both private and Govt clients

In this position, reporting to the Site Manager you’ll work as a 2IC Leading Hand Foreman, playing a key support role to the Management and day-to-day running of the site. Your initial project will be joining the site team on a $25M, 60 unit townhouse project, currently at the finishes stage. Or you'll join a lareg site team on a $30M unir project nr Mount Gravatt

In this position, your duties will include;

• Site inductions and toolbox talks
• WHSE / site safety management
• Read and work off construction plans
• Supervise apprentices and labourers while delegating tasks
• Communication with and management of sub-contractors and trades on site
• Setting-out
• Construct/create access ways
• Identify, rectify and manage defect works
• Use initiative to keep job running smoothly in the absence of the Site Manager
• Occasional Hands-on duties – carpentry

To be suitable for the role it is anticipated that you will possess the following;

• A carpentry trade background – key. Cert lll a minimum
• Will have built up some strong supervisory skills as a Leading Hand / foreman with recognised Australian commercial building contractors
• Will have ideally worked for established, reputable mid-tier builders with established systems in place
• Will have worked on large commercial sites
• Multi-units and medium density town-house project experience is highly desirable.
• Ideally a knowledge of the full project life cycle from structures and finishes.
• Possess a ‘can-do’ positive attitude and happy to work on the tools from time-to-time
• Career focused and a desire to progress through to Site Foreman.
