At Innate Therapies we are seeking expressions of Interest for a Child, Adolescent and Family Counsellor to join our growing team based in Innisfail.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to

• Oversea the everyday running of the service and supporting a small team of therapists.
• Provide an outstanding therapeutic service to children, young people, adults and families.
• Enhance psychosocial and developmental outcomes for children and young people impacted by trauma.
• Conduct discipline specific assessments and write comprehensive reports.
• Communicate assessment results and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders including the child, their family, carers, and support providers.
• As part of a multi-disciplinary care team, recommend therapeutic interventions and strategies to develop outcomes- focused case plans.
• Work with Individual Support Packages team members, other professionals, and agencies to enhance client outcomes.

About you...

• Tertiary degree in Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Counselling and or Psychology.
• At least 12 months experience working therapeutically with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect, or more than five years’ experience working in similar roles.
• Experience providing individual therapy to children, young people, and their families.
• Ability to complete high quality and rigorous discipline specific assessments and reports.
• Clinical and therapeutic understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning and knowledge of current trauma treatment trends.
• High level of cultural awareness and experience working with families from different cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
