About the opportunity
NSW Health Pathology is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Assistant Team Leader to join our team at John Hunter Hospital in a permanent full-time role. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership position within our Revenue Services team, supporting the effective delivery of high-quality financial administration. You will assist the Revenue Team Leader and Manager in overseeing daily operations, coordinating workloads, and ensuring compliance with NSW Health policies. Your role will also involve investigating and resolving billing inquiries, liaising with key stakeholders such as Medicare and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and supporting training and development initiatives for Revenue Administration Officers.
This position is ideal for a proactive professional with experience in revenue administration, financial transactions, and team leadership. You will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our billing processes, monitoring quality controls, and assisting in performance appraisals and process improvements. What you'll be doing
To assist the Revenue Team Leader and Revenue Manager by being aware of day-to-day activities and gaps in the revenue office. Activities involve advising management of gaps or in equalities in workloads, highlighting and coordinating any training as required.

- Demonstrated experience with supervising staff in a multi-disciplinary team which includes previous experience monitoring workflows and staff mentoring.
- Ability to allocate, motivate and assist staff to achieve workflow targets and maximise efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise own work along with other members of the team, display time management skills taking into account the impact on others to achieve results to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills that contribute to effective relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to assist the Revenue Team Leader to meet operational requirements, following policies and procedures, and to liaise with stakeholders as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in health-related billing and patient information systems, as well as oracle and Microsoft office products.
- Experience working unsupervised and setting your own daily workload.
