About the role
This role is responsible for protecting the council's public health and environment through inspections, monitoring, and regulatory programs covering food safety, sewage, and environmental compliance. Reports to the Team Leader Environment and Regulatory Services.

Duties

• Conduct inspections of food premises, public pools, and onsite sewage systems.
• Respond to and investigate environmental health complaints (noise, odour, pollution).
• Enforce relevant legislation and issue infringement notices.
• Provide expert advice to council staff and the community.
• Develop and deliver public health education programs.

Skills & experience

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in environmental health or regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (Food Act, Public Health Act, etc.).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct inspections, investigations, and prepare reports.
• Valid Australian Drivers Licence.
