Sensible Care is seeking a dedicated and skilled Allied Health Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team, providing vital support to clients in the community. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering physiotherapy services in line with Sensible Care's policies and operating procedures.
- Support the implementation of exercise plans designed by Physiotherapists.
- Work closely with clients to assist with therapeutic activities, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Monitor patient progress, communicate treatment outcomes to Physiotherapists, and document in client progress notes.
- Consult with Physiotherapists regarding adaptations, changes, or progressions in treatment plans as appropriate.
- Report relevant changes in client progress to the Physiotherapist regarding exercises and therapeutic outcomes.
- Liaising with other treating professionals and care stakeholders, facilitating effective collaborative practice to ensure the best treatment outcomes for our clients.
- Commitment to maintaining professional knowledge and skills, through ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Work under the supervision of the Restorative Partner to help restore clients' independence, strength, and abilities through targeted interventions.
- Ability to use standardised assessment tools, as delegated by an Allied Health professional for outcome measurements.
- Enhance clients' wellness and lifestyle capacity through exercise and activities focused on restorative and rehabilitative programs.
- Support, mentor & supervise less experienced allied health assistants
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (essential).
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a residential aged care facility or community care setting (essential).
- Certificate of Massage Therapy or willingness to obtain one.
- Computer & phone technology literacy
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- Police Check & NDIS Worker Screen or willingness to obtain one
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, client-focused approach.
- Reliable and organised, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
