About the Role

As an Allied Health Assistant (AHA), you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality allied health services across a range of sites within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a collaborative and dynamic team, where your contribution will ensure the safe, efficient, and professional operation of allied health services.

Under the direction of our skilled allied health professional staff, you will assist with clinical service delivery to patients.

This may include:

  • Contributing to patient care by providing administrative assistance
  • Contribution to a safe working environment for patients and staff
  • Preparation of assessment and therapy resources as required
  • Supporting implementation of a therapy program under direction of allied health for example personal care practice, upper limb rehabilitation, delirium management, voice clinic
  • Communication of relevant issues relating to patient care to the treating therapist

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as an Allied Health Assistant. The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Qualifications: Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience in a caregiving or therapeutic role, with a strong understanding of patient care.
  • Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, a compassionate nature, and a genuine desire to support others, ability to manage your workload, prioritise tasks, and work independently or within a team with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of OHSW, infection control, confidentiality, and the ability to recognise and act on changes in patient conditions.
