About the role

TMH Welding & Fabrication is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. As a Boilermaker, you will be involved in quarry shutdowns and maintenance, structural fabrications, and pipework. There will also be maintenance and repairs on heavy mobile plant equipment, truck fleets, container fleets and cranes. This is a casual position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse projects.

What you'll be doing

• Perform a variety of welding processes including MIG (solid and dual shield), TIG, and Stick
• Work with steel, high tensile steels, aluminium, and stainless steel
• Read and interpret technical drawings accurately
• Solve problems independently and ensure work is completed to a high standard
• Strong work ethic with a focus on safety
• Maintain positive client relationships and contribute to a cohesive team
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard

What we're looking for

• Trade qualified
• Quality skills in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Truck license (LR, MR, or HR)
• Work-at-heights and confined-space tickets
• High-risk work license for forklift and EWP
• Rigging or doggers (favourable)
• Continued ability to pass random drug and alcohol tests
