Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing financials of all types, including complex transactions between multiple entities. This is a unique role, as it may be more accurately defined as ‘Client Manager’, rather than Senior Accountant. This means that Business Services Managers / Senior Managers are welcome to apply. This is a very hands on role, client facing role which is reflected by the level of remuneration. Successful candidate will be required to work full time in Footscray office during 6 month probationary period. After probation, 2 days WFH is offered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Look after client needs and act as point of contact. Must have strong communication skills.
• Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns.
• Adhere to accounting standards and regulations.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Identify and resolve accounting issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Xero and Xero XPM accounting software.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
