About the Role

Shape Victoria's transport network by leading the development and management of an adaptable investment pipeline that informs transport decisions. Support the creation of a secure database, automated reporting, dashboards, and mapping to improve communication and decision-making. Ensure quality assurance and alignment with broader investment strategies and government policies while enhancing data management and analysis capabilities within the team.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

  • Provide specialist expertise to enhance the design, development and implementation of DTP's Network Pipeline System enabling the analysis and synthesis of information on transport investments and connect these insights to maximise community and government benefit from major transport investments, within the Network Pipeline System
  • Provide specialist expertise to enhance the design, development and implementation of advice reporting and visualisations to effectively communicate pipeline analysis and influence strategic decision-making in in identifying, prioritising, sequencing, and coordinating the future program of work across the transport portfolio.

Shape the future of Victoria's transport network by leading the development of an integrated Network Pipeline System that drives investment decisions. This is your opportunity to apply your GIS expertise, data management skills, and technical leadership to influence the state's transport priorities.

We are looking for a GIS specialist with experience in desktop GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and ETL tools like FME. You will design and implement spatial data workflows to support interactive reporting and dashboards, as well as producing cartographic mapping to deliver clear insights that inform strategic planning. Your ability to translate complex data into compelling visualisations will be key in guiding high-impact transport investments.

In this role, you will work closely with executives, professional teams, and key stakeholders across the transport sector. You will drive system enhancements, improve analytics capabilities, and ensure best-practice approaches to pipeline management. Your leadership will also support team development, fostering long-term capability and resilience within the department.
