Job Title: Business Development Manager - Insurance Builders

Location: Various Locations in NSW (Intra-state travel required)

The Role:

  • Reporting to the Head of Property Services, the Business Development Manager - Insurance Builders will be instrumental in driving business growth within the insurance fulfilment sector. You will be responsible for establishing and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve long-term business objectives and annual targets.
  • As a key player, you will focus on generating new business by leveraging existing relationships with major builders in the insurance sector, while also cultivating new client partnerships. This will involve utilizing established relationships with Insurance Key Accounts to identify and secure new supply partnerships, specifically within the glazing sector.
  • This role demands a proactive and creative approach to sales development, encompassing activities from cold calling and technology utilization to event networking. You will be expected to craft and deliver customer-centric service and product solutions, driven by innovation and a deep understanding of client needs.
  • A critical aspect of this position is the ability to navigate the complexities of the insurer landscape, including the decision-making processes and the role of loss adjusters. Strong commercial acumen is essential for success.
  • Once secured, you will be responsible for managing a diverse pipeline of opportunities, from initial prospecting through to successful execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong operational-level client relationships.
  • Analyse client needs and develop integrated solutions to meet their strategic objectives. Identify and cultivate new revenue streams within the insurance builder environment.
  • Maintain and grow existing revenue streams through proactive client relationship management.
  • Take ownership of account performance, increase opportunities within existing accounts, and expand service offerings.
  • Develop comprehensive plans for key sectors and major accounts.
  • Seek and secure joint marketing and branding opportunities.
  • Develop strong client relationships through regular contact and value-added service.
  • Establish new relationships with potential customers across various service lines, such as plumbing and electrical.
  • Manage the customer relationship cycle, including the identification and maintenance of relationships.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to build and maintain market presence.
  • Maintain allocated accounts through CRM.
  • Proactively identify and act on self-development opportunities.
  • Comply with occupational health and safety (OH&S) legislation and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate:

In addition, the successful candidate will possess:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales or business development within a retail or services organization.
  • A minimum of 2 years of account management experience with a proven drive for results.
  • Relevant trade-based industry experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve business or market growth, ideally within glazing, plumbing, or electrical.
  • Experience in the insurer landscape is highly desirable.
  • Experience in selling trade-based products or solutions (e.g., glazing, electrical, plumbing) is desirable but not essential.
  • Tertiary studies are preferred.
