We’re Looking for:
A motivated and experienced A Grade Electrician Maintenance Officer with a strong technical background and a passion for excellence in facilities maintenance. Experience in sectors such as healthcare, education, shopping centres, or complex facilities.
The ideal candidate will be committed to upholding high standards. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you'll engage with a range of stakeholders and ensure the efficient and safe operation of facilities.
About the Role:
In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining a safe, reliable, and high-quality environment. You'll carry out a variety of electrical maintenance tasks, from critical repairs to supporting preventive maintenance, ensuring all systems are operating efficiently.
Working closely with the maintenance team and external contractors, you will apply your technical expertise to implement safe and effective solutions, ensuring the facilities continue to support the organisation's mission of excellence in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Take part in a rotating on-call roster (e.g., one week in six when fully staffed).
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Assist with minor infrastructure projects and support broader maintenance initiatives as required.
- Conduct regular electrical maintenance, inspections, and repairs on critical equipment and infrastructure.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as per the established schedules (monthly, quarterly, six-monthly).
- Ensure all tasks comply with regulatory and safety standards.
- Contribute to facility improvement projects, applying your expertise to support ongoing enhancements.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in maintaining large, complex facilities, including shopping centres, universities, healthcare facilities, power stations, or other critical infrastructure.
- Expertise with BMS, chillers, UPS, and black start systems.
- Strong understanding of WHS regulations and safety procedures.
- Problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Physically fit and active – capable of walking the site, responding to requests, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in maintenance software.
Qualifications
- Electrical trade qualification and over 5 years’ experience in a facilities maintenance role.
- A Grade electrical license (unlimited electrical license as per Energy Safe Victoria).
- Austel license for telephone and cabling, or willingness to obtain one.
- Current driver’s license.
- WWCC and Police Check.
