The role will report directly to the General Manager and be accountable for, but not limited to, the following key responsibilities:
Reservations Management & Operations
- Oversea staff to provide exceptional front of house / reception duties during check-in, check-out, and through every guests in-house stay.
- Supervise the reservations team to optimise efficiency and ensure seamless coordination of all bookings.
- Implement strategies as directed by General Manager to maximise occupancy and revenue.
- Ensure seamless inter-departmental communication with Reservations Team to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Maintain expert knowledge of the hotel’s reservation systems and related technologies.
- Collaborate in the recruitment and training new staff members.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Evaluate and monitor customer satisfaction. When necessary, can provide in-house solutions to grievances.
- Provide guests with information on local attractions and arrange tours and transportation as needed.
- Uphold a reputation for excellence in accommodation, service, and hospitality.
Financial Responsibilities
- Work closely with the General Manager to maximise average daily rate (ADR) and occupancy levels
- Collaborate with General Manager and Accountant to ensure AR setup and chargeback authorisations align with hotel credit policies.
- Enforce cancellation and guarantee policies to secure revenue.
- Ensure commissions are accurately processed and in line with agreements.
- Manage purchasing and departmental expenditure for hotel services and guest experiences, including breakfast, as per delegated authority from the General Manager.
Occupational, Health and Safety
- Ensure all reservations operations maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organisation, and functionality.
- Ensure security measures are in place and maintain the hotel’s property.
- Ensure compliance with all OH&S standards
To be interviewed for this role you will be required to have the following skills and experience:
Experience
At least 3 years previous experience within a 4 or 5 stay hospitality environment
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Hospitality
Skills
- strong leadership
- communication problem-solving
- and
- customer service skills
- along with the ability to manage time and delegate tasks effectively.
- Approved Manager certification
- Experience in managing and ability to allocate work duties to Housekeeping Manager, Reception staff and Bar staff.
- Experience with Deputy software highly regarded
