About the Role

Are you passionate about horticulture and maintaining beautiful open spaces? We are seeking a dedicated Qualified Gardener to join our team, helping to enhance and maintain our parks, gardens, and public open spaces.

As a Qualified Gardener, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the city's amenity horticulture assets, ensuring they are vibrant, attractive, and well cared for gardens that showcase the public open spaces across the municipality.

The role will involve:

  • Undertaking general horticultural maintenance, including planting, pruning, watering, mulching and weed control
  • Operating and maintaining a variety of horticultural equipment and machinery
  • Assisting in the implementation of landscaping projects
  • Monitoring and managing plant health for pest & disease
  • Working collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality open space

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant horticultural qualification (Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent)
  • Experience in garden maintenance, landscaping, or a similar role
  • Knowledge of plant care, pest management, and irrigation systems
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental sustainability
  • A valid driver's licence (mandatory), preferably MR Truck licence

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a current Victorian Drivers Licence and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an 'international criminal history check'), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
