Salary Sacrifice
As a not-for-profit entity, our employees can package up to $18,549 p.a. of their taxable income before your income tax is calculated. Up to $15,900 p.a. on everyday expenses (such as mortgage payments, rent, groceries, bills and insurance) plus up to $2,649 p.a. on meal/entertainment benefits.

We offer 5 weeks annual leave, generous salary sacrificing options, flexible hours, and opportunities for professional development and growth. If you live in areas identified as remote areas by the ATO you will be able to salary sacrifice up to an additional $7950 towards your rent or mortgage.
Sign on And Retention Bonus
In addition, Churches of Christ have options to offer rental assistance and relocation assistance at remote and rural locations.
Lastly, Churches of Christ are offering a generous Sign on and Retention Cash bonus of up to $14,000.
You may be eligible for the following cash bonuses:
- $2000 on sign on – paid after third fortnight
- $3000 after 6 months
- $4000 after 12 months
- $5000 after 24 months.
For part-time employees, this amount will be paid on a pro-rata basis based on the ordinary hours of work during the period.
About the Role
Located in the tropical town of Ingham, surrounded by World-Heritage listed rainforests and some of Australia's most beautiful natural wonders. Palms Aged Care is a 50 Bed Service.
We are looking for part-time Registered Nurses to work a variety of shifts. Working closely with the Service Manager and our Allied Health professionals, you will enjoy engaging with our much-loved residents as you evaluate their care needs. This opportunity requires flexibility within your shifts and your focus will be recognising resident needs and assisting them with services that enrich their daily living. In order to ensure that residents' individual care plan requirements are met, you will also provide comprehensive guidance to nursing and care staff. The care you provide will have a lasting positive impact on our residents and their families.
Within your varied day, you will:
- Conduct baseline and required focus assessments of individual clients' needs and record findings within a Positive Wellbeing Model.
- Develop and review care plans based on assessment findings of individual client needs, ensuring that care strategies are based on evidence.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care strategies in consultation with client, their representatives and other members of the care team.
- Maintain client documentation in accordance with electronic documentation and organisational and legislative requirements.
- Liaise and collaborate with internal/external service providers in the provision of services.
About You
You are a dedicated clinician who can effectively communicate at all levels enabling you to achieve best nursing practices. Understanding the importance of providing quality care to our residents, you feel rewarded by creating a genuine impact. You have excellent leadership skills and the ability to guide and direct our personal care workers onsite.
Your experience and qualifications for the role should include:
- A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Some residential aged care experience.
- The ability to problem solve using best practice methods and have demonstrated clinical knowledge.
- High level of professional written and verbal communication.
- Thorough understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Current National Police and NDIS Screening Check, or ability to obtain.
- Possess a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate. Or willingness to update.
