We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced international logistics candidate in a varied role where you will where you will utilise your experience working with freight forwarding, coordination of international freight and customs knowledge.

You will also will also be fully trained in purchasing and supplier management so this role is perfect for someone looking to broaden their experience!

From liaising with the Department of Agriculture and researching the best way to import or export new food products, submitting the correct documentation and getting approval and permits to coordinating international freight, working closely with the Supply Chain and Fulfilment Teams and getting involved with purchasing and stock management ....... no two days will be the same!

Day to day duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage customs and compliance for export and import, handling and transport of goods in the APAC region
  • Look at import and export restrictions, tariff systems, insurance and other customs related matters and ensure compliance achieved to move product from initial loading point to final destination
  • There will be opportunities to both import and export new products globally – do all of the research and investigations on how to best move forward with these new business opportunities
  • Review and monitor freight rates
  • Organise and track freight shipments
  • Generate international shipping documentation as required by importing country requirements and Australian laws / deal with all forwarding related documentation, ensure local authorities, ports, freight forwarders receive correct documentation
  • Analysis of costs and performance against budget
  • Manage relationships with various stakeholders including freight forwarders, Dept of Agriculture, etc
  • Deal with documentation such as Certificate of Analysis, Certificate of Origin, Bill of Lading, etc
  • Assist in resolution of disputes
  • Coordinate stock purchase and stock transfer
  • Manage the end-to-end stock receipt process coordinating with warehousing and logistics teams
  • Review and approve 3PL invoices, reconcile and code charges
  • Contribute to the ongoing analysis of logistics and purchasing costs versus budget and communicate any variances

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in international logistics/freight forwarding/customs and dealing with food products preferred
  • Experience and understanding working with international and domestic freight and the associated documentation (export, container loads, have dealt with freight forwarders etc)
  • Understanding of legislation, Australian export requirements and importing customer requirements
  • Experience dealing with the Department of Agriculture
  • Happy to expand your experience in purchasing, stock management and coordinating with suppliers and warehouse teams
  • You describe yourself as passionate, driven and have a can-do attitude!
  • Strong organisational skills and pro-active
  • High level attention to detail – you take pride in your work
