About the Role
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Officer to join our Community Services team on a Part-Time basis. This position is needed every Monday (8:00am - 4:00pm), with the potential to increase hours.
As an Activities Officer, you will play a key role in bringing joy and meaningful engagement to our residents and community members by organising and delivering a variety of activities, events, and outings. Your contributions will promote the independence, well-being, and social inclusion of seniors, people with disabilities, and retirement village residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver engaging small group activities, outings, events, and community programs
- Foster active participation, independence, and wellbeing among our seniors, people with disabilities, and community members
- Supervise staff, students, volunteers, and venue hirers involved in activities
- Support clients with their care needs and assist with daily living activities
- Provide safe transportation to and from the Centre, as well as on outings
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants by adhering to safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Maintain accurate records, including bookings and client notes
What We Are Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- A Certificate III in Aged Care, Community Care, Disability Services, or a similar qualification
- A current C Class driver’s licence and the ability to obtain a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) licence
- Experience driving a 10-12 seater bus (familiarisation training will be provided)
- Proven experience in planning and running community activities and events
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with office software
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
- Effective organisational and problem-solving abilities
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate within the last 3 months (or the ability to get one)
- Previous knowledge or experience supporting individuals with dementia will be highly regarded
