About the role

Agripower is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter Leading Hand to join our team in Charters Towers, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our heavy machinery and processing equipment. As the Maintenance Fitter Leading Hand, you will be responsible for working within a team and ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities. You will also be required to work in the Production facility as required.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out fault-finding, repair, and maintenance tasks on a variety of heavy machinery and equipment
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard and within agreed timelines
• Identify opportunities for improvements in maintenance processes and procedures
• Provide hands-on mentoring and training to the Production team and Contractors
• Assist in maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities and report on key performance indicators
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
• 2+ years of experience as a maintenance fitter in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to work on a variety of machinery and equipment
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
