What is this role all about?
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, our Graduate HR Officer will play a crucial role in recruiting and providing administrative support whilst ensuring all HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role will administer and facilitate a range of HR related activities that spans across Recruitment & Onboarding, HRIS, WHS, Learning and Development and Compliance.
At Interchange, the Human Resources team have one goal, to ensure that every employee has a smooth, efficient, compliant and most of all, enjoyable work life experience.
Your day may include but not be limited to:
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for students and volunteers, including advertising, direct searches, phone screening, shortlisting, interviewing and compliance checks.
- Coordinating and maintaining all HR records, documentation and workflows.
- Drafting high-quality position descriptions, policies and procedures.
- Supporting the onboarding and offboarding of employees to ensure a seamless employee experience.
- Responding to HR queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Contributing to a broad range of HR projects and initiatives, from new HRIS systems to employee engagement and change management.
- Preparing employment contracts and associated payroll paperwork
- Working on specific project items across the business activities.
What do you need to apply? (Selection criteria)
- Human Resources work experience (not essential)
- Completed Graduate qualifications in Human Resources (essential)
- Computer literacy (MS Office in particular) – (essential)
- Exposure to any HR Software like HRIS, LMS or ATS (not essential)
- Advanced customer services skills. (essential)
- Previous work experience in an administration or assistant capacity an advantage (not essential)
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality (essential)
- Excellent organisational skills with an ability to prioritise (essential)
- Intent to work in alignment with the vision and mission of Interchange (essential)
- Current unrestricted drivers’ licence (essential)
- Ability to obtain Working with Children Check (essential)
- Ability to obtain NDIS Clearance (essential)

- Full time Permanent Position
- Starting remuneration is: Level 3 ($67,236 - $72,124) of the of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (the “Modern Award”) and conditions under the National Employment Standards (“NES”). Regular remuneration reviews and opportunity for increases.
