About the role
The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for assisting the Financial Services Manager in the sound financial management of the PHN including oversight of the financial transactions, preparing financial reports, liaising with budget managers and executive, assisting with annual audit and year-end activities. This is a vital role in the Finance team requiring excellent communication and data analysis skills, a keen eye for detail, contemporary reporting skills, and an ability to prioritise and work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualifications in Accounting and/ or extensive experience in a similar role
  • Experience in preparing financial reports
  • Competence in the use of accounting software, such as Business Central, and Microsoft Office 365
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent communicate skills, including ability to explain accounting and financial concepts to non-accountants
  • Experience managing a high workload to meet challenging and conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic and flexible team

Additional Information
*Salary: This role is classified as I – M within our Enterprise Agreement and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally offered between grade I – K.
