- Currently seeking a Sales Engineer to manage a territory covering Western Victoria and South Australia, with a revenue target of approximately $1.5 million, comprising both established accounts and significant new business opportunity.
The Impact You'll Make
- You'll manage and grow relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities across Western Victoria and South Australia.
- Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll join a well-established team of technical sales professionals supporting some of Australia's most critical industrial infrastructure.
- You'll sell specialised instrumentation, calibration equipment and control solutions to industrial clients, working primarily with heavy industries like petrochemical, oil and gas, power generation, water boards, defence, wineries/breweries, and universities.
- You'll typically interact with instrument technicians, maintenance managers, maintenance supervisors, plant managers, and occasionally engineers or directors of smaller operations.
- The role requires balancing approximately 70% account management with 30% new business development, leveraging the company's existing 3,000+ customer relationships while identifying fresh opportunities.
- Based in Melbourne, this position involves regular travel throughout Western Victoria and South Australia, with a hybrid working arrangement.
The Experience You'll Bring
- This opportunity is ideal for either experienced sales professionals from the instrumentation/measurement sector or technical specialists (such as maintenance managers or instrument technicians) looking to transition into a sales role.
- Experience selling instrumentation, measurement equipment or related technical products into industrial markets is highly valuable, as is hands-on technical experience with similar equipment.
- Strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to understand and explain complex applications are crucial—your confidence in recommending the right solutions significantly increases success rates.
- Based in Melbourne with a territory covering Western Victoria and South Australia, requiring regular travel and a willingness to drive to regional areas.
