Provide leadership in the development and implementation of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care funded Aged Care Transition to Practice Program (ACTTP) at Charles Darwin University (CDU)

About the Position
As a Senior Lecturer in Nursing, you will be central to the development and implementation of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care funded Aged Care Transition to Practice Program (ACTTP). You will implement and deliver the evidence-based program specific for Enrolled Nurses, Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners new to practice in the Residential Aged Care sector.

The ACTTP deliverables are:

  • To provide a supportive environment for nurses new to the aged care sector (including transition from other sectors).
  • To build upon the clinical skills nurses develop during their university or vocational studies with capabilities and knowledge specifically required for the aged care sector.
  • To increase the attractiveness of aged care nursing through mentorship and building career pathways.
  • To enhance provider capability to attract, develop and retain new nurses to the aged care sector.

The project requires academic leadership and a collaborative approach with significant stakeholder engagement with Residential Aged Care service providers, expert advisors, and the ability to foster support and commitment for participants to complete the training program.

About You
To be successful, you will require:

  • Postgraduate qualifications at Masters level in nursing and/or health related field;
  • Eligibility to register with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with evidence of current practice and leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with people from various educational, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational, administrative and project management skills, including the ability to manage online systems, keep accurate records, and oversee the logistical aspects of the project.
  • Capacity to build positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and effectively manage conflicts or challenges that may arise during the project.
  • The capacity to develop, apply and monitor best practice and innovative strategies with respect to teaching and learning. Experience in tertiary curriculum development, preparation and delivery of education programs.
  • Capacity to innovate in curriculum and course design in partnership with residential aged care service providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with policy, management and clinical leaders from the aged care sector.
  • The ability to work both autonomously or in a team environment, and proven abilities to manage and motivate teams and students as required

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Teaching Focused Academic Level C. The base salary will be in the range of $134,128 to $156,967 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $156,929 to $183,651 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
