About the role:
The Industry and Workforce Capability Group advances industrial capability and capacity, growing advanced manufacturing; supporting small and family businesses to succeed; building local and global supply chains; and leads strategy for industry to access the skilled workforce needed to continue sustainable economic growth in South Australia.
As Manager, Spencer Gulf Workforce you will be the Department’s lead presence in the Spencer Gulf region to drive and deliver workforce outcomes for the region. You will lead the establishment and operation of the Spencer Gulf Jobs and Skills Hub, including delivery of programs and services through the Hub. A core part of your role will be to establish and drive industry partnerships to achieve workforce outcomes. You will also play a broader role in coordinating workforce and skills development activities across the region and provide advice on workforce needs and responses to government. This role will be based in region and you will be a core part of the Department's presence in the Upper Spencer Gulf.
Key Competencies:
To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:
- Comprehensive knowledge of workforce and skills needs and challenges in the Spencer Gulf region and South Australia more broadly, and the opportunities and levers that can be utilised to build the capability and capacity of the workforce in the region.
- Proven experience in leading, planning, delivering and evaluating high profile projects and programs that align to established strategic objectives particularly in relation to workforce and skills development.
- Experience in engaging a diverse range of stakeholders and incorporating different views into decision making and program development, building an authorising environment to progress key priorities.
- Experience and understanding of progressing key projects through approval processes, including aligning to policies and procedures, decision making, management and other accountability systems and processes.
- Demonstrated experience in providing a high quality, responsive, client-centred approach to developing solutions and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
Remuneration:
Competitive salary $127,859 max p.a plus superannuation

Qualifications:
Essential: Nil
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
Special Conditions:
- The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE), initial 24-month term contract.
- Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) required prior to employment.
