The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an APS6 Project Manager to play a pivotal role in major ICT program delivery for Defence. The APS6 Project Manager will have experience in Project Management and be committed to continued professional development. This role provides opportunities to lead and support program initiatives that will make a difference.
The APS6 Project Manager will:
- Work independently and as part of a team to deliver on key program deliverables.
- Manage and build relationships with key stakeholders to support successful program delivery.
- Prepare and maintain key program documentation to support strong governance practices.
- Assess, manage, and communicate risks, actions, issues and dependencies across projects.
- Provide secretariat support for key governance and decision-making forums.
- Support management of contracts and resources that are essential to the delivery of key program initiatives.

The Defence Digital Group (DDG) is seeking to recruit accomplished digital professionals to lead the implementation of Defence’s digital platforms and technology.
By adopting modern architecture and platforms that are scalable, reliable, performant and safe, we will meet the demand of our integrated Defence force to be ready to fight and win in the digital age.
To support this vision, the Enterprise Systems Division within the Defence Digital Group is seeking skilled project management professionals with ICT project management experience, to drive delivery outcomes in line with the National Defence Strategy.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience with program/project management delivery.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment, with the ability to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- A ‘can-do’ attitude and will demonstrate initiative and flexibility when faced with complexity or ambiguity.
