We have opened our café facilities in Jannali and have an exciting opportunity for a cafe allrounder to join our team.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Civic Cafes are a supported employment workplace where you will be working alongside employees with a disability to support them in fulfilling their professional goals. Working in a team you will have the opportunity to work with several of our supported employees who possess varying skill levels and abilities.
- The working hours are 7.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday
- This role is based at our Jannali Cafe
- We would like you to be able to take customers' orders using POS, do some light cooking/ food prep, help serving tables, kitchen hand duties and cleaning .
- Your communication and customer service skills will make sure that you build relationships making this a really enjoyable role!

ABOUT YOU
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- Previous hospitality / cafe allrounder experience
- Excellent listening, comprehension and communication skills alongside the ability to recognise/interpret non-verbal cues.
- Great collaboration / team-work skills and the ability to navigate basic systems.
- Some experience in a cafe or food service is preferred but not essential.
- A valid NSW driver’s license
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA / LICENCES
As Civic is a provider of NDIS services, successful candidates will require the following checks:
- NDIS Worker Check
- Working With Children Check
- National Criminal History check
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- Two professional references
- Right to work in Australia

Supporting your health
Civic provides a range of individualised supports to complete everyday personal activities, thereby assisting in the transition to more independent living. Experienced Civic staff use a Person Centred Active Support (PCAS) approach with a range of living activities.
Do you need assistance with day-to-day personal activities?
Civic can provide help with dressing, feeding, toileting, administration and monitoring of medicines. We can provide support with shopping, domestic assistance, gardening and home maintenance services and other day-to-day tasks.
We can assist with activities like:
Personal hygiene
Bathroom assistance
Eating and drinking
Mobility and transferring
Administration of medicines
Home help
Attending medical appointments
Weight management including personal training
