HSD Finance is a leading mortgage broking firm based in Sydney, specialising in both residential and commercial lending. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a driven and results-focused Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our high-performing team of three existing BDMs and help us take our business to the next level.
About the Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for expanding our network of referral partners — including accountants, real estate agents, builders, mortgage brokers, financial planners, and other industry professionals. You’ll work alongside three experienced BDMs, gaining the support and collaboration of a seasoned team while contributing your own unique strengths to drive new business.
This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record in business development within the mortgage or financial services industry, who is passionate about building relationships and delivering real value to clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with a network of referral partners to generate a consistent pipeline of high-quality leads.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the firm’s market share.
- Collaborate with our established BDM team to share strategies, insights, and successes.
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan aligned with company growth targets.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay ahead of trends, opportunities, and competition.
- Stay informed of industry updates, lending criteria, and regulatory changes that impact clients and partners.
- Ensure a seamless client experience, from referral through to settlement, in partnership with our internal team.
- Consistently achieve and exceed targets and KPIs.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or Sales Executive in mortgage broking, commercial lending, or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending policies, and the regulatory landscape.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop trust and rapport quickly.
- A self-driven and goal-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of identifying and leveraging business opportunities.
- Outstanding time management and organizational abilities — able to manage multiple relationships and priorities.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel when needed.
- A degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
