Our client is seeking a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to join them for a Queensland-based energy project. They are looking for this role to be based in Perth.

If you are an experienced Principal Civil/Structural Engineer looking for a long-term contract (with potential for a permanent role after the initial period) and have a background in energy projects, this position could be a great fit.

Given the current market in Perth, our client is in a unique position to offer a relatively high level of job security, with this project expected to run for approximately three years.

While no specific salary band has been provided, our experience with this client suggests they typically offer market-leading rates for most roles.

Responsibilities
• Supervise civil and structural engineers and designers
• Develop and manage schedules for assigned work scopes, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
• Participate in meetings with clients, vendors, and consultants.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines during project execution and collaborate closely with structural designers to produce required drawings.
• Assist in defining resource requirements for both drafting and structural engineering within the assigned scope.
• Perform hands-on civil and structural design, developing associated engineering

Ideally we looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least 15 years of experience in civil and structural engineering.
• RPEQ certification for Civil/Structural engineering.
• Proven experience in leading teams of engineers and designers.
• Expertise in site preparation, excavation plans, road design and upgrades, pavement and drainage design, and underground civil infrastructure.
• Proficiency in reinforced concrete (RC) and steel design; wastewater management experience is a plus.
• Strong technical skills, including the ability to prepare specifications, perform calculations, and propose effective solutions.
• Extensive experience in reviewing and validating technical deliverables such as analyses, calculations, drawings, and reports.
• Advanced proficiency in civil and structural engineering software.
• Strong written English skills for technical report preparation.
