About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join GEMCON Building as a Contracts Administrator. In this full-time, site-based role in Sydney, NSW, you will be responsible for providing essential contract management support to help deliver successful construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing, reviewing and administering construction contracts and associated documentation
  • Monitoring contract compliance and keeping accurate records of contractual activities
  • Assisting with the negotiation and finalisation of contract terms and conditions
  • Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective contract management
  • Providing administrative support for procurement and tendering processes
  • Identifying contractual risks and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Maintaining comprehensive contract filing systems and databases
  • managing ITP processes and quality control
  • Assisting with project Programming
  • Working closely with a site manager and facilitating the administrative needs of the site
  • Managing and maintaining sample approval processes
  • Managing and maintaining various registers including procurement registers and variation registers
  • Assessing subcontractor claims and submitting payment schedules
  • Preparing Tender recommendations
  • Managing, mentoring and training a Building Cadet
  • Preparing Monthly reports to the Director

What we're looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field, such as construction management.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a contracts administration or similar role within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction contract types, terms and conditions
  • Excellent attention to detail and contract administration skills
  • Proficient in using contract management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals
