Our Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead their flagship Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project - one of Australia's largest BESS.

About the Opportunity

As Project Manager, you'll spearhead the delivery of this ground breaking 520MW/1856MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility in Brisbane's northern suburbs. This permanent role offers excellent remuneration and the chance to make your mark on Australia's energy landscape.

Your Impact

Reporting to the Project Director you will:

• Lead project delivery from planning through to commissioning and operations handover
• Manage major procurement packages and EPC contractors
• Drive project governance and ensure timely, quality-focused delivery
• Lead and develop a high-performing project team
• Champion safety and environmental excellence
• Manage all elements of scope, time and cost.

Key Accountabilities

• Development and implementation of comprehensive project delivery strategy and execution plan
• Management of project scope, schedule, budget, and quality to meet project objectives
• Leadership of the project team, including direct reports and matrix-managed resources
• Oversight of procurement activities, including major BESS packages and equipment contracts
• Management of EPC contractors and technical consultants
• Coordination with regulatory authorities and compliance with permit requirements
• Implementation of project governance, reporting, and control systems
• Risk management across all project aspects, including technical, commercial, and safety risks
• Stakeholder engagement and management, including internal leadership, local community, and regulatory bodies
• Management of project financials, including cost forecasting, cash flow, and budget control
• Quality assurance and control throughout project execution
• Technical oversight in collaboration with project engineers and subject matter experts
• Change management for scope changes, variations, and project adjustments
• Contract administration and dispute resolution
• Transition planning from project delivery to operations
• Regular progress reporting to the Project Director and senior management

About You

• 10+ years project management experience in energy or infrastructure
• Track record delivering large-scale technical projects ($100M+)
• Experience with regulatory frameworks and contract management
• Strong leadership capabilities and stakeholder management skills
• Degree in engineering, construction management or related field
• Experience with BESS or renewable energy projects highly valued
