Part-time (2 days per week), term-time, continuing position

Applications are invited for the Term Time position of Diverse Learners In Class Teacher Aide. The position works within a team of six staff who support teachers to enhance outcomes for students requiring extension and those with diagnosed learning difficulties. Regular working hours for this position are Mondays and Tuesdays, 8:00am – 3:30pm.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Working with students individually or in small groups within the classroom.
• Providing pastoral and academic support that encourages the development of student skills and independence.
• Liaising with student families and case managers with regard to action plans and outcomes
• Providing feedback to teaching staff to assist with student evaluation processes.
• Maintenance of daily records for NCCD evidence.

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for people with:

• A certificate Level in Educational Support or equivalent qualifications
• Well-developed research skills through the use of technology
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of diverse learning needs programs for upper primary and secondary school students
• Demonstrated experience in providing In Class Teacher-Aide support to a secondary school diverse learning needs program
• Effective communication and high level of interpersonal skills
• High level organisational and planning skills
• Ability to show initiative and work as a team member
• Experience in providing literacy, numeracy and IT support to secondary school students
