Job Title: Avionics, Mechanical & Structures AME’s (Technicians)
Location: Edinburgh, South Australia
Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension or transition to full-time)
Salary: $80.00 per hour plus super, with per diems available for interstate contractors. (Salary negotiable based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Security Clearance: Australian Citizen required for security clearance
Job Summary:
Aircraft Maintenance Services Australia is seeking experienced Avionics, Structures, and Mechanical AMEs for multiple positions on a 12-month contract to join our Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) Services team. You’ll be supporting Modification and Depot Maintenance for the P-8A Poseidon Program at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia. There is potential for contract extension or transition to a full-time role.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with a background in defence & 737NG experience, although it is not essential. Competitive rates and excellent working conditions are offered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain qualifications and certifications associated with Cert IV Aeroskills – Avionics, Mechanical & Structures as per the Boeing Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
- Adhere to all approved maintenance processes and procedures.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks meet requirements and corrective actions are completed.
- Carry out aircraft and component maintenance, including task completion, certification, and finalisation in accordance with maintenance authorisation.
- Use equipment in accordance with authorised instructions ensuring safe and proper use.
Essential Qualifications:
- Hold a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics, Mechanical & Structures) – Essential.
- Suitability to obtain DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) – Essential.
- Hold or be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) for Avionics and NV1 for Mechanical and Structures) – Essential.
- Hold a C class driver’s licence – Essential.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 aircraft maintenance regulatory framework – Essential.
- Demonstrate a contemporary working knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices – Essential.
- Prior maintenance experience with 737NG or derivative aircraft – Desirable.
