Role Overview

As the IT Manager, you will oversee the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across multiple sites in Australia, and New Zealand. Your responsibilities will include managing Level 3 technical support, strategic planning, vendor relations, and project management. You will lead a small internal team and work closely with external Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to optimize IT services and align them with business objectives. In this role, you will evaluate and enhance the network and server environments, collaborate with the ERP team to improve system performance, and spearhead initiatives to eliminate inefficiencies. Your strategic vision and hands-on technical expertise will be crucial in driving the company's IT function forward.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring all technical systems are aligned with business priorities, working with the CFO and other executives to ensure that IT investments are well-structured and support long-term business goals. Your leadership will play an essential part in the overall IT governance framework, ensuring that your department delivers high-quality support while maintaining operational efficiency. You will also be expected to manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring timely delivery and managing stakeholder expectations effectively.

You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the technology environment and establishing a more resilient and efficient IT function. Through continuous improvement initiatives, your efforts will focus on eliminating single points of failure, streamlining processes, and improving communication across departments. As you collaborate with the ERP team to optimize system performance, you will contribute significantly to the company's growth over the next 3-5 years, driving both operational and cost efficiencies. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of the organization's IT strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 technical support, addressing complex issues related to networks, servers, security, and systems.
  • Act as the primary liaison with MSPs, ensuring service delivery meets organizational standards and addressing any service gaps.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT operations and support business objectives.
  • Evaluate current infrastructure, exploring optimization opportunities, including potential WAN redesign and cloud migration.
  • Oversee vendor and MSP relationships, leading contract negotiations to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the ERP team to maintain and upgrade the Epicor ERP system, facilitating user adoption and addressing system inefficiencies.
  • Manage IT-related projects, such as SharePoint implementation and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring IT solutions align with business priorities and improving the end-user experience.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a proactive IT professional with a blend of hands-on technical skills and strategic leadership abilities. You have extensive experience in providing Level 3 support across diverse software and applications within a Windows/Microsoft environment. While experience with Epicor ERP is advantageous, strong expertise with SQL databases and data flows within ERP platforms is essential. You excel in vendor management, have a proven track record in negotiating MSP contracts, and possess the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your exceptional communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various departments, fostering a culture of cooperation and mutual respect.

In addition to your technical and leadership capabilities, you will need to be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities while maintaining focus on long-term strategic goals. You should possess a natural ability to influence and guide teams towards a common vision, bringing clarity and direction even in the face of challenges. Strong interpersonal skills are vital, as you will work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on IT initiatives and fostering collaborative relationships.

A successful candidate will be someone who can think beyond day-to-day operations and contribute to the strategic direction of the business. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop long-term IT strategies that align with the business's growth objectives. Your proactive nature and passion for driving change will enable you to thrive in a dynamic environment, where your ability to manage and optimize IT resources will directly impact the overall success of the organization. With a strong character, you will work well within the company culture, navigating various stakeholder relationships and driving initiatives that help the business scale.
