Join Our Team as a Visitor Information Centre Officer!

Are you passionate about tourism and delivering outstanding customer service? Do you have a keen interest in promoting local attractions and events? If so, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to visitors, assisting with tourism-related inquiries.
  • Promote local attractions, events, and experiences to enhance visitor engagement.
  • Ensure up-to-date tourism information, brochures, and event calendars are readily available.
  • Handle cash transactions, banking reconciliations, and daily financial records.
  • Work along side volunteers supporting when required.
  • Assist with accommodation and tour bookings.
  • Maintain accurate visitor statistics and contribute to reporting requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance tourism initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and on-site attendance to ensure execution of council events, festivals, and promotional activities.
  • Work on a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Be a brand ambassador for The Middle of Everywhere.
  • Assist in social media planning, creation and implementation across social media platforms.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  1. Experience in tourism, marketing, hospitality, customer service, or information services.
  2. Strong knowledge of the Wellington Shire tourism region and the greater Gippsland area.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. The ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  5. Proficiency in IT systems and data entry.
  6. Experience in creating promotional material and design skills preferred.
