The Role:

This role would suit an experienced Hospital Biller who has accounts/debtors experience and wants a great work life balance. The role of Billing Officer will be responsible for the timely billing and collection of hospital and medical claims. Liaising with sites for payments and banking, patient queries and complaints and ensuring the timely payment from health funds and third parties. This role is based out of our Brisbane Toowong Office and is close to public transport.

You will need to be a team player, with ability to work independently and as part of a team, with exceptional interpersonal skills both over the phone and face to face.

The Role will encompass but is not limited to:

  • Hospital and Medical Billing
  • Accurate compliance to billing Rebate able Items
  • Processing and Balancing of Payments to Provider’s
  • Processing Doctors Payments
  • Reconciling Payments and Billing
  • Debtor Management – Medicare / Health Funds / Patients / Third Parties
  • Balancing Payments Across Multiple Locations
  • Maintain Internal Accounting Records
  • General Administration Tasks

To be successful in this role you will need to have or ability to obtain the follwoing skills and abilities:

  • Microsoft Office suite, with proven excel experience!
  • Understanding of Medicare / Health Funds Claims
  • Experience in Simday/ e-claims / Episoft / MYOB (advantageous)
  • Confidence navigating multiple software packages
  • Experience working in a tight fast paced team environment
  • Highly developed time management skills
  • Attention to detail
