Are you experienced in project governance, risk management, and financial control within telecommunications? Ventia is looking for a Project Governance & Control Officer to join their team in Sydney.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee governance, risk management, and compliance for telecommunication projects, focusing on Wideband, Asset Relocation, and Optical Fibre networks. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will ensure ensure that projects adhere to corporate policies, industry standards, and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and maintain governance frameworks to ensure project compliance and adherence.

Monitor budgets, track financial performance, and implement cost control measures.

Identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive transparency and operational efficiency.

Prepare and analyse project reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

Support internal and external audits by maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.

Skills & Experience

Strong expertise in project governance, compliance, control methodologies.

Experience with telecommunications projects, particularly in network design and construction (Wideband, Asset Relocation, Optical Fibre) is desirable.

Knowledge of telecommunications regulations, contract management, and financial control.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a project governance or control role.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and performance metrics.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar).

Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, COBIT, or ITIL are highly regarded.
