  • Remuneration: Academic Level B (LEVB) (Research Fellow) remuneration range $134,910 to $160,222 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary range of $114,000 to $135,390 pa, 17% superannuation and leave loading; OR Academic Level C (LEVC) remuneration range $165,273 to $190,593 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary range of $139,657 to $161,054 pa, 17% superannuation and leave loading.
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to join School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health.

We are seeking an experienced Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to provide a range of research activities that support AusHSI in its mission. The appointee will work with other AusHSI researchers to provide implementation science research support for a suite of academic and clinical research projects (including those funded by category 1 grants) and research consultancies focusing on innovation, implementation, and evaluation within health services, often in collaboration with health service partners. Experience complementary to AusHSI program areas may be an advantage.

The Australian Centre for Health Services Innovation (AusHSI) is a research, advisory and training Centre. Combining leading research knowledge with hands on practical experience, AusHSI partners with hospitals and health service organisations to deliver innovation and improvement for better health services. Composed of internationally leading health service and implementation research experts, health economists, and statisticians, AusHSI integrates research findings into policy and practice and helps make changes that result in greater efficiencies and improved patient outcomes. Based at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, AusHSI currently leads several NHMRC and MRFF funded projects, completes a range of health service consultancy projects and provides paid expertise and input into a wide range of Queensland and national research activities into the organisation, funding, and delivery of health services..

What you need to succeed

Level B (Research Fellow)

  1. Completion of a doctorate, PhD or Masters qualification in health services research or a closely related field (e.g. implementation science, occupational therapy, social sciences, public health, nursing, psychology).
  2. Demonstrated experience conducting and organising field work.
  3. Demonstrated experience conducting context assessments, process evaluations, implementation evaluations (e.g. hybrid effectiveness implementation studies).
  4. Demonstrated experience conducting mixed or multiple methods, and qualitative analyses including use of Excel, Word and/or NVivo and experience conducting robust context mapping and knowledge of a range of methodologies for doing this.
  5. Demonstrated experience working in group settings and/or as part of a cross- organisational or inter-organisational team.
  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – in writing and in person – about research findings to a range of audiences.

Level C (Senior Research Fellow)

  1. Completion of a PhD in health services research or a closely related field (e.g. implementation science, occupational therapy, social sciences, public health, nursing, psychology).
  2. Demonstrated experience conducting and organising field work.
  3. Demonstrated experience conducting context assessments, process evaluations, implementation evaluations (e.g. hybrid effectiveness implementation studies).
  4. Demonstrated experience conducting mixed or multiple methods, and qualitative analyses including use of Excel, Word and/or NVivo and experience conducting robust context mapping and knowledge of a range of methodologies for doing this.
  5. Demonstrated experience working in group settings and/or as part of a cross- organisational or inter-organisational team and with people with lived experience.
  6. Demonstrated track record of scholarly and professional achievement in a discipline relevant to the role.
