THE JOB OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a Senior DDA Access Consultant to join our Sydney CBD-based team. A person who is excited to hit their career and life goals with us for many years to come. This role is for a knowledgeable Senior DDA Consultant, who may also be interested in managing a growing team of access consultants in the near future.

You’ll be involved in managing some of the largest projects ever built in Australia, guiding the design teams to meet their accessibility obligations and see your mega projects from plan to finished product. It’s very rewarding work.

ABOUT YOU

Essential

• Minimum 5 years prior experience in a similar access consultant role
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Access Consulting &/or tertiary qualification in in a relevant field such as BCA/Building Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering or Human Movement.
• A friendly attitude and unapologetic thirst for knowledge.
• Serious about your work, but don’t take yourself too seriously.
• Well-organized, a problem solver, a great communicator and report writer.
• Membership, Associate Membership or Accreditation with the Access Consultants Association (or the ability to work towards)
• Drivers License (Class C)

Viewed Favourably (but not essential)

• Rail, transport, school &/or public sector experience
• Public domain, streetscape, and external spaces experience
• Office, commercial, schools or industrial experience

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your work will be extremely diverse including offices, industrial, stations, public precincts, schools, high-rise, public buildings, Defence facilities and retail spaces throughout Sydney and NSW. The main thing the projects have in common is that they’re massive legacy projects that truly shape our country’s future.

Your main roles will include:

• Accessibility “DDA” technical advice and reporting on existing buildings, design plans and completed construction.
• Accessibility Certification of designs, inspections and construction certification
• Preparing Accessibility Performance Solution Reports
• Being part of rewarding mega projects that run for multiple years with large, dedicated design teams who are all working towards a common goal
• You’ll be supported in your training and decision making. We all love solving curveball questions together as a team.

SALARY PACKAGE

• Salary package of $150, 000 -$200,000 subject to negotiation for the right person, skills and experience
• We expect this will increase quickly over the years with your evolving performance, know-how and internal promotions.
