Your Opportunity Join the dynamic Office of the CEO as an Enterprise Risk Advisor, where you will play a pivotal role at contributor level within a Risk team of three in embedding a proactive risk culture across RSL Queensland. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Enterprise Risk, you will support the continuous improvement of our Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), provide expert risk advice, and contribute to the development of a broad range of risk capabilities across the organisation including strategic, portfolio, operational, project and program risks.
This is an existing role recently upgraded from co-ordinator level and is a unique opportunity to apply your risk management expertise in an organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of Defence personnel and their families.
Key Responsibilities As Enterprise Risk Advisor, you will provide expert risk advice to business units, supporting the effective identification, analysis, evaluation and treatment of risks across commercial and investment activities, corporate services and service delivery. You will facilitate risk identification and review workshops and assist in delivering training to strengthen risk capability across the organisation.
A key part of the role involves maintaining and enhancing the risk management system to ensure it remains effective and aligned with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. You will also prepare clear risk reports and dashboards to support informed decision making at the senior leadership level. In addition, you will monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and scan the environment to identify emerging risks, while supporting resilience activities such as business continuity planning and testing. Collaboration is central to the role, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to uplift risk maturity and foster a positive risk culture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Business, Risk Management) or professional certification (CPRA, CPRM).
- Experience with ISO 31000 and GRC[JL1] systems/programs preferred but not essential.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a broad range of areas of enterprise or operational risk management, not limited to only WH&S, Financial risk or audit.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand complex operational and strategic environments.
- Experience delivering risk advice in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
- High-level communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ideally experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
