ABOUT THE COMPANY
NECA is a leading Industrial Association, dedicated to representing the interests of the electrical and communications contracting industry across Australia for over a century. As a thriving not-for-profit business and association, we are committed to providing excellent service, comprehensive guidance, and expert advice to our members, helping them build robust businesses.
NECASafe is our specialized division functioning like a consultancy, offering a range of revenue-generating initiatives and HSEQ systems designed explicitly for electrical trade businesses. We also provide access to a vast array of downloadable safety templates through our E-commerce platform, making compliance and safety management more convenient.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Safety (HSEQ) Advisor, you will assist members to meet their health, safety, quality, and environmental obligations. You will be the primary point of contact for our Queensland members for HSEQ support. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the Electrotechnology Industry, represent NECA at events, and contribute to media content. This role offers a flexible work-from-home arrangement with some travel required to attend meetings, events, and member consultations.
Travel within QLD (and some interstate travel from time to time) will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote a range of WHS products and services suitable for contracting businesses
- Provide expert advice, implementation assistance, mentorship, and training
- Conduct consultations, gap analysis, provide audit support, workplace inspections, and incident investigations
- Keep up to date with WHS and worker’s compensation legislation changes and advocate on behalf of the membership
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This opportunity is perfect for someone with well-honed communication skills. You will be able to understand our members’ needs and be able to confidently link them with the correct advice, resources or the expertise that they need to overcome their challenges.
As our members are located all over QLD, we are looking for someone who enjoys traveling and working remotely. A largely autonomous role, you will be a part of a national safety and technical team, reporting to the WHS Manager.
In addition, you are an energetic person with confidence in public speaking, giving you the ability to present at work functions and corporate events.
You could be an Electrician looking to get off the tools, or someone with a Cert IV in WHS (bonus points if you're an Electrician with a Cert IV in WHS!).
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or higher (unless you're a licensed electrician)
- Previous experience in a similar role or an Electrician looking to transition off the tools will be highly regarded
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills and sound IT knowledge
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Creative-mindedness with the ability to suggest improvements
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
- This role presents a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills and make a significant impact on the electrical industry. We are committed to investing in your development, including lead auditing and investigation training.
- You have the option of choosing between a motor vehicle allowance valued at $16k per annum, or a Ute (GWM 4x4).
- The full-time role offers a generous salary package, vehicle allowance and/or vehicle, a mobile phone and a laptop.
- You will have access to an Employee Assistance Program.
- Peak industry body for the electrical and communications industry.
- Great team with a lot of support.
- This role is fully remote, so you get to work from home when you're not out on the road!
All applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia.
If additional information is required, please contact [email protected]. Applications will be processed via Seek only.
If you believe you are the right person for us, please apply. Any applications not responded to within 30 days have been unsuccessful.
