Contracts Manager - Operations

About the role

As Contracts Manager within our Coach Services team, you will oversee expenditure contracts, reporting to the Manager, Operations Contracts within the Operations group.

This role provides the opportunity to play a pivotal role in financial and strategic planning, driving supplier relations, and implementing process improvements to minimise risks and enhance operational performance.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to reduce risks and maximise contract value.
  • Partnering with Operational Managers, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Suppliers to ensure the efficient, cost-effective delivery of goods and services aligned with performance targets.
  • Proactively managing contract risks to ensure compliance with organisational goals and achieve successful contract outcomes.
  • Utilising contract management experience and a methodical approach to deliver impactful results that support operations leaders, staff, and customers, while embracing diverse methods and innovative solutions.
  • Administering contracts in line with approved plans, ensuring contract details are up to date and accurate.
  • Supporting operations leaders in driving continuous improvements through effective supplier collaboration.

About You

You bring solid experience managing contracts in operational sectors (e.g., Construction, Aviation, Transport), overseeing them from inception to completion, including the development of Contract Management Plans. You have a sharp attention to detail and excel at analysing trends, mitigating risks, and driving improvements. You also work well both independently and as part of a team.

Our ideal candidate will also have:

  • Proactive stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate contract principles to a wide range of audiences, including non-experts.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to identify and report on contract trends.
  • Familiarity with working in regulated environments and adhering to compliance standards.
  • A track record of managing costs within contract-approved limits.

The remuneration for this position aligns with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023 and falls within the S0.1.1 - SO.1.3 classification range ($122,020 - $129,759).
