Salary - Clerk Grade 9/10 $125,693 - $138,510pa plus superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our Housing Portfolio team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of upgrading projects, including but not limited to projects which range across various residential capital and compliance upgrade projects such as heritage upgrades, façade upgrades, structural upgrades, roof upgrades, restoration upgrades, acquisition upgrades, stormwater upgrades etc. You will be managing multiple projects concurrently. and ensure the successful delivery of projects within the designated budget, on time, and with the desired outcomes. The role requires strong leadership and expertise in project management to maintain capacity and meet key targets within the Capital Works Team.

What you'll do

The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of all projects within the Housing Portfolio, from inception through to completion. This includes working closely with stakeholders, identifying risks, and utilizing Housing Portfolio IT systems to effectively plan, monitor, and report on project progress. You will play a key role in ensuring that all projects are delivered successfully, and that any risks are identified and mitigated effectively.

You will lead the design, briefing, resourcing, implementation, and coordination of programs of work with the project team to achieve effective business outcomes and meet client service delivery needs.

The project manager will oversee all aspects of projects, including project planning, resource coordination, quality assurance, and monitoring timeframes and budgets to ensure successful project delivery. Including manage tender processes in compliance with Housing Portfolio Procurement policies and guidelines, ensuring contracts are established with external service providers.

You will apply expert knowledge to lead and manage complaint resolution by investigating issues, identifying root causes, proposing corrective actions, and drafting formal responses, including ministerial responses, to ensure client satisfaction. You will also monitor project performance and implement strategies to mitigate risks to successful delivery in consultation with senior managers.

What we're looking for

  • A degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building, Surveying, Project/Business Management, or a related construction discipline.
  • Proven experience in project management within the housing, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience in tender management and contract administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate risks, develop solutions, and drive program success while managing competing priorities.
