Giant Electrical Pty Ltd is the Hunter’s premier Level 1 & 2 Authorised Service Provider for low and high-voltage power line construction. Locally owned and operated in Cardiff, NSW, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence in the electrical distribution industry.

The Role

There are full-time opportunities for Line Workers / Cable Jointers / Electricians / Crane Operators to work on the Ausgrid Distribution and Sub-transmission Network. The works will include but are not limited to:

• Site preparation and construction of overhead networks (LV - 11kV, 33kV, 132kV) and private timber poles
• Operating plant, equipment and machinery around live utility services
• Installation, termination, and commissioning of kiosk substations, chamber substations, pole-top substations, street lighting projects, and URD systems
• Installation and construction of high and low-voltage underground cables
• Driving trucks to transport equipment and materials
• Performing general labouring duties as part of a team
• Working on electrical infrastructure projects within the Ausgrid network
• Ensuring compliance with Ausgrid construction standards and safety procedures
• Working collaboratively with a team while also being self-motivated and able to work unsupervised

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria:
✅ NSW White Card
✅ Cert III in ESI Distribution (Overhead) or,
✅ Cert III ESI Power Systems Distribution Cable Jointing or,
✅ Cert III Electrotechnology
✅ Experience with heavy equipment and lifting equipment
✅ Experience in underground and overhead power line construction (Ausgrid experience preferred)
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
✅ Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures

Desirable Skills:

• C6 Crane HRW Licence
• MR / HR Heavy Vehicle Licence
• EWP Ticket >11m HRW Licence
• Current Ausgrid Authorisation
