About the opportunity:

Position: Occupational Therapist – Allied Health New Graduate

Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary full-time up to February 2027

Location: Rehabilitation Program, Kirwan Health Campus

There are three main components of the MHAODS New Graduate Program: work-based experiential learning, formalised education and training, plus supervision and profession-specific support.

The Allied Health MHAODS New Graduate Program requires the participant to rotate through four clinical settings over the two-year period of the program. Participation in both supervision, and the education and training program is required to support the achievement of clinical competency and capability.

  • Salary range: $79,051 to $116,189 p.a. (HP3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

Requirements:

  • The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
  • Commitment to completing the Allied Health Graduate Program while undertaking a variety of allocated mental health and/or AODS rotations.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle, therefore an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be produced before commencement of duties.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
