We are seeking a high performing, experienced Marine Officer to join our Waterway Operations Urangan team. As a Marine Officer you'll be required to participate in oil pollution emergencies inter and intrastate, and undertake other travel required as part of a multifunctional team. Also, Marine Officers work outside standard operating hours and on some weekends to conduct education and compliance operations and monitor marine activity.
As a Marine Officer Grade 3, you will play an important role where some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Working in partnership with stakeholders to embed their awareness of marine safety and environmental sustainability.
- Processing and recommending approval of applications and authorities
- conducting compliance activities monitoring the condition and operation of vessels against legislative requirements
- Undertaking educational activities to encourage self-compliance
- Undertaking comprehensive investigations into non-compliance with relevant legislation
