Your Role
As a CNC Machinist, you will be integral to delivering high-precision components for critical Defence and aerospace projects. You will set up, operate, and optimise CNC machining processes, working with advanced 3, 4, and 5-axis systems to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and compliance with Defence standards.
Beyond machining, you will play a key role in maintaining production efficiency by following strict quality control measures, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
Your expertise will contribute to process improvements, supporting continuous enhancement initiatives, and mentoring junior team members to uphold operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
About You
You are an experienced CNC Machinist with a solid background in precision manufacturing, particularly within the Defence and aerospace sectors. You take pride in your ability to program, set up, and operate CNC machines, ensuring the flawless execution of complex components under stringent tolerances.
Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be critical in meeting the demands of highly regulated industries. You thrive in a team-oriented environment and have strong problem-solving skills that allow you to adapt to evolving production requirements.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes and mills, including advanced multi-axis systems.
- A strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T principles, and quality control techniques.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining exceptional accuracy and consistency.
- A proactive and safety-conscious mindset, ensuring compliance with all workplace health and safety regulations.
