A family-owned winery, Rochford Wines encompasses three vineyard sites, two cellar doors, two restaurants, a weddings and functions venue and a 12,000 capacity outdoor concert amphitheatre. il Vigneto Pizzeria:

Open 3 days a week, Friday lunch, Saturday lunch & evening and Sunday lunch. Offering wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, pasta & antipasto.

Saturday nights are our Concert Lounge with excellent live music.

THE ROLE:

Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will be responsible for preparing the pizza section and supporting the Executive Chef & Head Chef in delivering high quality food and customer service in il Vigneto Pizzeria.

Working Hours: Wednesday to Sunday including Saturday evenings, with occasional mid-week evenings, weddings, and concerts.

This is a Full Time role including weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Running the Pizza section; tasks include stretching, topping and oven work.
  • Maintaining a high standard & consistent quality in the daily preparation of food whilst keeping up to date with new products, recipes and preparation techniques
  • Ensure food purchasing, preparation and cooking is completed daily and in line with the quality standards
  • Carry out and ensuring food safety compliance at all times
  • Develop & maintain effective collaborative relationships with kitchen staff and front of house staff
  • Working effectively with other departments & divisions

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3+ years of experience as a Chef
  • Demonstrated experience in Italian cuisine (with wood fire pizza oven)
  • Ability to work autonomously & effectively in a fast paced, high-volume environment
  • A punctual, professional & reliable manner
  • High level organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Show initiative in the kitchen and ability to multitask

We have a full time position available for an energetic and hardworking Cook to work in our fast-paced restaurant and café. In particular we seek candidates who are able to work on weekends and will be available for the occasional evening service. The position is for an immediate start.
